It’s been a while so it was nice to get the chance to lead worship this weekend at Cross Timbers Community Church in Argyle, TX where I currently serve as the technical director.  Three of the songs that I did during the set came right off of the new CD, Awake from North Point Community Church in Atlanta.  I am loving this CD and in my book, it’s a must have for your current worship collection.

The No One Higher tag coming right out of Glory to God Forever is awesome and I integrated it into the set exactly as arranged on the album.  It was awesome.  I’ve said this before…there’s something about a simple repetitive anthem that can draw a body of believers to worship.  The tag simply goes like this:

There is no one higher, no one greater, no one like our God
There is none more able, Christ our Savior, great and glorious

After we sang that quite a few times, our campus pastor commented on the fact that these become more than just words when we as a body speak these things in one accord in the presence of God.  And I believe it.  I think we as worship leaders need to be conscious of not just leading someone in a song, but leading someone to proclaim the greatness of God.
